My question for this week, which just happens to sort of connect to todays discussion, is:
"Why do you think people in the government care more about industry than the environment, like how they want to build oil mines in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge?"
My thoughts on this question are maybe because they don't imagine what the effect of this will be. I also think that maybe they have never been up to Alaska and so they don't know the place that they will be destroying. I don't even think this is a good idea, because it might give us a temporary fix, but just imagine when we are all grown up, the effect of this decisison will be put on our shoulders. The Burke museum has an exhibit right now about the birds that migrate to this area right now and they are trying to convice people to not let this happen.(http://www.washington.edu/burkemuseum/arcticwings/)
